Tour Introduction

This 4 Days Erongo Mountain and Swakopmund Safari is focused on the  impressive mountains range of  Mountains reaching heights of more than 2000 meters and in Swakopmund the place with a blue sea  front, the aquarium and the Swakopmund Museum is worthwhile. There are numerous boulevards and a large traditional street market where travelers can buy souvenirs. It is situated close to the  picturesque villages of Usakos, Karibib and Omaruru. The Erongo Mountains enjoy a higher rainfall than adjacent areas and have provided food and shelter for early men for thousands of years. Therefore a great variety of rock paintings can be viewed on farms and lodges in these mountains.

Day 1-2: Eileen Guest Farm, Erongo Mountains or Similar

Erongo Mountains

Conveniently located only a few hour’s drive from Namibia’s capital city of Windhoek, the Erongo Mountain Range stretches across the plains between the towns of Omaruru and Karibib, and is home to a remarkably rich natural heritage. This expanse of rugged wilderness serves as one of Namibia’s most popular tourist drawcards, attracting visitors with its spectacularly scenic landscapes, magnificent caves and rock painting sites, and its impressive array of wildlife species. These include, among others: rhino, elephant, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, blesbok, waterbuck, kudu, warthog, mountain zebra, oryx, eland, springbok and over 200 species of bird. Visitors can look forward to enjoying a variety of adventurous activities such as hiking, rock climbing, games drives, horse riding safaris and mountain biking.

Overnight: Eileen Guest Farm

Eileen Guest Farm is situated at the edge of the Erongo Mountains and is a popular migration area for many animal species of Namibia. Accommodation is provided in 5 comfortable guest rooms: 2 triple rooms, 2 double rooms and 1 single room to cater to various travellers. Each room has a shower and toilet providing convenience and privacy.

A Eileen Guest Farm, meals are served on a half open lapa or in a small dining room. Guests can also enjoy BBQ evenings around the open fire providing a lovely social atmosphere. Also featured at Eileen Guest Farm is a fresh saltwater pool.

Day 3: Mile-4 Caravan Park, Swakopmund or similar

Swakopmund

Set along Namibia's spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and is surrounded by otherworldly desert terrain. Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laidback atmosphere and cool sea breeze make it very popular Namibian destination. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities including: quad biking, horse riding, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing and fascinating desert tours.

Overnight: Mile-4 Caravan Park

Mile 4 Caravan Park is situated in the northern outskirts of the popular holiday town of Swakopmund. For the dedicated campers, the park offers a choice between a spacious campsite with neat ablution blocks or a more comfortable cluster campsite. For more of a luxury stay, there are a variety of self catering accommodations offered. For large groups such as sport teams, school groups, church groups or company team building groups, there are backpacker rooms in the dorms. Close by is an obstacle course to challenge the physical abilities of the groups. The park’s spacious bar with a built-in braai offers the ideal venue for private functions such as office parties, year end functions and birthday parties. The bar deck also has a built-in braai and offers a breathtaking sunset view. The conference hall with a fully equipped kitchen offers a solution for larger events such as wedding receptions, large birthday parties or conferences.
