Self-Drive Information

Emergency Services: Emergency evacuation services are included.

Drivers: A valid and unendorsed license must be produced by all drivers. The minimum age for authorised drivers is 23 years.

Fuel: The renter will receive the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. Upon the return of the vehicle/termination of the hire, the vehicle will be refilled at the renter’s expense.

Insurances: The rental vehicle includes Zero Excess.

Rental Agreement: Upon renting the vehicle the renter and additional drivers will be required to complete a standard rental agreement with the car rental company. A valid credit card is required for the rental deposit.

Health: It is the client’s own responsibility to ensure that he/she is medically fit and able to embark on the tour.

Force Majeure: It goes without saying that we do our utmost to conduct the tour as described in the programme; however, we cannot guarantee it. Unfavourable weather conditions, rivers in flood, organisational problems, unforeseen events or other factors may force us to change the course of the tour. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Day 1
Windhoek

Accommodation: Arebbusch Travel Lodge, or similar

Guest will be met and hand over the Vehicle. The guest will have leisure time to explore the capital city. Windhoek is often described as a city with a “continental” atmosphere due to its architecture (historical buildings dating back to the German colonial rule), cuisine, culture, dress and educational institutions. Clients can do a city tour during the day and go to Joe’s Beer House where they will enjoy different types of game meat and enjoy their evening.

Day 2
Windhoek to Kalahari North 304km

Accommodated: Harnas Wildlife Foundation/ Similar

Clients Grab breakfast in the morning and then depart to Harnas Situated east of the capital city of Windhoek, the area of the Kalahari North can be found in the northeastern reaches of Namibia. The expansive Kalahari Desert spans over seven countries, some of which include: South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia. On their way clients will get their lunch in Gobabis and proceed to Harnas.

Harnas Wildlife Foundation was originally established for the protection of animals and has since grown to include welfare projects and nature conservation projects. Visitors to Harnas can enjoy comfortable accommodation with a range of hospitality, while a range of programs attracts volunteers from across the globe. Harnas Wildlife Foundation is an experienced and active player in the conservation of Namibian wildlife, the protection of natural resources and provides social, relational and physical education to those who seek the benefit thereof.

Day 3
Windhoek To Mariendal327km

Accommodation: Kalahari Anib Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia, Mariental / Similar

Clients will get morning Breakfast and depart to south side of Namibia. Mariental is located close to magnificent the Hardap Dam, which is the largest reservoir in Namibia. The Hardap Irrigation Scheme has breathed life into this arid terrain, which is now fertile with farmlands covered in citrus, melons, lucerne, wine and maize, and dotted with ostrich farms.

Day 4
Mariental Area

Clients will wake early around 5h30 for the sunrise drive and get their breakfast while enjoying the beautiful sunrise.

Kalahari Anib Lodge is located 30 km northeast of Mariental on the C 20 (Kalahari).

Day 5
Mariental To Fish river Canyon 354km

Clients will get morning Breakfast and depart to Fish River Canyon which is Carving out an epic rocky wonderland in the south of Namibia, the Fish River has created Africa’s largest and the world’s second largest canyon. Hot, dry and stony, the Fish River Canyon measures a whopping 160 kilometres in length, at times 27 kilometres in width and 550 metres in depth.

Day 6
Fish River Canyon area

Clients will grab breakfast and go on the excursion into fish river canyon area and will be back around lunch.

Day 7
Fish river Canyon to Aus 178km

Accommodation:Klein-Aus Vista Desert Horse Inn Gondwana Collection Namibia, Aus/ Similar

Clients will get morning Breakfast and depart to Aus is in the ǁKaras Region in southern Namibia. The arid surrounding landscape is known for its unique botanical diversity. Aus serves as an excellent base from which to explore the area and to view the main attraction: the feral horses of the Namib Desert, which run wild and free in the sparsely vegetated plains.

Desert Horse Inn is located 2 km west of Aus on the B 4 (Aus / Wild Horses).

Where the subtle colours of the grassy Pro-Namib merge with Namib sands in a lovers’ embrace, you’ll find Klein Aus Vista. Surrounded by the rocky Aus hills, Desert Horse Inn is an attractive base for a sojourn in south-western Namibia en route to the famed dunes of Sossusvlei.

Day 8
Aus to Sossusvlei (373.3km)

Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar

Guest will depart in the morning from Windhoek and depart to Sossusvlei area.The drive reveals the transition from Kalahari thornveld to the true desert of the Namib; Lilyveld, a valley 30km north of Maltahöhe, springs into bloom for about a week after good rains; Duiwiseb Castle is an interesting diversion 70km south-west of Maltahöhe. Along the way clients will get Lunch along the way where the guest can pullover by a big tree and have lunch at 12h00-13h00. After arrival guest will have leisure time before going on a Sundowner drive to Elim dune around 17h30 or 18h00.

Day 9
Sossuvlei / Sesriem Area

Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar

Guest will get breakfast and drive into the park for the Sossuvlei Excursion which includes Dune 45, Deadvlei, Hiddenvlei, and Big Daddy. The guest will have regular stops to let clients take pictures and have some exposure of the Dunes. Guest will be back around lunch time and will have some leisure time for themselves at the pool while.

Overnight: Namib Desert Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia

Namib Desert Lodge is located 60 km north of Sesriem on the C 19 (Sossusvlei Area).

Set below striking fossilised dunes, the comfortable lodge provides a spectacular experience of ancient desert. 65 rooms, two swimming pools and a waterhole are surrounded by sandy splendour. Breathe in the grandeur on a sunset drive and feel the earth underfoot. Relax in the arms of the Namib.

Day 10
Sossusvlei to Swakopmund (402.6km)

Accommodation: Pebble Stone House, Swakopmund / Similar

Guest depart to Swakopmund early morning at around 09:00 am. Once guest have arrived, they will get lunch in Swakopmund after quad biking and Sandboard activity which is about a 2-hour drive. After the activities, other optional activities can be Skydiving, Sandwich habour, kayaking, and desert tour. There are a lot of activities that clients can do in Swakopmund.

Day 11
Swakopmund to Brandberg 168km

Accommodation:Brandberg White Lady Lodge, Brandberg or similar

Clients will depart in the morning from Swakopmund to Brandberg which is situated in northwestern Namibia, the Brandberg (Fire Mountain) Massif is Namibia’s highest peak, at its zenith, the Königstein (King’s Stone), standing at a whopping 2573 metres above sea level. Named for the vivid shade of orange it sometimes turns at sunset, this is undoubtedly the main highlight of the region. Upon arrival clients can visit to the white Lady’s painting.

Brandberg White Lady Lodge is named after the San paintings for which the Brandberg became famous. It is a place where you will feel at home and enjoy a true warm-hearted hospitality, "tranquility" is name of the game. At the Lodge you find a fully licensed restaurant, a well stocked bar, comfortable lounge and a large pool area. And if you are lucky you might bump into a dessert adapted elephant.

Day 12
Brandberg to Etosha National Park (312km)

Accommodation:Etosha Safari Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia or similar

Clients will have breakfast in the morning and depart to the northern part of Namibia. their journey and the second stop will be in khorixas, where clients can grab lunch at the shopping centre before proceeding to Etosha National Park. If time permits, enter Etosha for an afternoon game drive. Depending on how often you stop today, On entering the park, the first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and I suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way. Etosha has lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, springbok and elephants. This on top of many lesser and common plains herds, and abundant birds makes game viewing in Etosha.

Day 13
Etosha National Park

Accommodation:Etosha Safari Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia or similar

Clients will take early breakfast and then go on the Full day game drive and around 12h00 -13h00 clients will have lunch inside the park and continue with the game drive up till the afternoon and after the game drive guest will have leisure time to enjoy the atmosphere before dinner.

Overnight: Etosha Safari Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia

Etosha Safari Lodge is located 10 km south of Andersson Gate on the C 38 (Etosha National Park).

Sip on a drink while watching the ruby sun dip into the mopane woodland. Perched on a hill with expansive views, this stylish lodge offers 65 chalets that provide a peaceful base from which to explore the animal bounty of Etosha National Park.

A shuttle service operates between Windhoek and Etosha Safari Lodge and Camp (on request).

Day 14
Etosha to Windhoek 414km

Guest will get up at 08h00 and have breakfast they will depart to Windhoek and on arrival hand over the Vehicle and the keys to the Representative of the Company.
