Day 1
Day 1-3: Khama Rhino Sanctuary Chalets, Serowe


Situated in Botswana’s Central District, the town of Serowe is the main trade and commerce centre of the region. It is Botswana’s largest village and serves as the capital of the Bamangwato tribe. Serowe is the birthplace of the country’s founding father and first president, Sir SeretseKhama. The town offers all the amenities needed and serves as a convenient stopover for travellers looking to stock up before venturing north to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park or the Central Kalahari. Visitors can look forward to exploring the town’s history at the interesting Khama III Memorial Museum, the official Khama graves, and the London Missionary Society church, with a notable tall steeple, a prominent landmark of the town.

Overnight: Khama Rhino Sanctuary Chalets

The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Chalets has 8 chalets to choose from located in different areas. Bedding and towels, braai facilities, a bar fridge and electric kettle will be provided for all chalets.

There's a curio shop that sells various local crafts, books, maps, souvenirs and postcards. Wood for fires and braais can be bought here, as well as ice, cold drinks and basic provisions.

Also featured at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary is an excellent spot for day-visitors to relax and enjoy the peace of the Sanctuary. Visitors can make use of seating, tables, water and braai-stands for their picnic.

The restaurant is open to delight day visitors, chalet guests and campers with a variety of tasty traditional dishes as well as delicious regular items. There's also havea swimming pool, which is ideal for cooling and refreshing.

Day 2
Day 4-6: Makgadikgadi Adventure Camp, Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

The Makgadikgadi Pan is the world’s largest salt pan, formed on the bed of an ancient lake that began evaporating aeons ago. Visiting Makgadikgadi is a unique desert experience: in the dry season, this vast expanse of sun-baked salt glistens in the light and when the rains come, the pan is home to a cornucopia of flamingos and other waterbirds, as well as one of Africa's biggest zebra populations, whose annual migration is a wonder to behold.

The pans are renowned for these rainy season flamingo populations and other water birds; pelicans, ducks, and teals, (more visible March to April) which can be seen from Nata Birds Sanctuary about 120kms east of our camp. During the winter dry months which is the best period to drive the pans especially Kubu Island, Kori bustards, Korhaans can be spotted along grass fringes accompanied.

Makgadikgadi Adventure Camp is a self drive, self catering facility only. Currently it provides basic essential camping facilities. Additional activities will be added in the very near future which will include horse rides to kudu island (19kms away) quad bikes on the white surface pans and guided walks into the bush and nearby cultural places. The camp can be used as a base for touring the pans and all the attractions at the pans, and also can be linked with other packages to provide diversity in the holiday package.

Day 3
Day 7-8: BeyondNxabega Okavango Tented Camp, Okavango Delta

Okavango Delta

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometres. Visitors can enjoy a number of wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.

A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife, Botswana’s Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Known as the river that never finds the sea, the Delta’s crystal-clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus-fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sitatunga are found in this watery wilderness. Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while honeybadgers can be seen in broad daylight. Tall termite mounds are homes for families of dwarf and banded mongoose. Traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) rides explore the delicate details of the glistening waterways, where iridescent dragonflies, frogs of every colour and jewel-like kingfishers live in the papyrus-lined banks.

andBeyondNxabega Okavango Tented Camp is located in a 25 00 hectare (61 775 acre) exclusive wildlife concession on the edge of the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango, the camp is known for its elegant tented accommodation, which boasts breath-taking views of the ever-changing Delta. Blending skilfully with the environment, nine exclusive tented suites set on raised wooden platforms are tucked beneath a canopy of ebony trees. Each spacious tent features ensuite bathrooms and private verandas with romantic salas overlooking the reeded floodplain. The heart of Nxabega lies in its handsome living and dining areas, where burnished teak floors and a steeply pitched thatch roof frame a lofty and comfortable space. Made from local timber, reed and thatch, the guest areas include indoor and outdoor dining areas, a Safari Shop and a swimming pool with an expansive viewing deck. From this springboard of comfort, guests are able to appreciate the exquisite beauty of the Okavango Delta. Day 4
Day 9-10: Chobe Savanna Lodge, Chobe River Front

Chobe River Front

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: driving along the game-dotted river banks in a 4WD; cruising along the river in a motorboat, spotting rare birdlife and for a unique, luxury safari experience, hire a houseboat.

Overnight: Chobe Savanna Lodge

Set in a classic African savanna environment with sweeping vistas, the focal point of the lodge is a thatched open sided lodge which commands a 270 degree view over the Chobe River and beyond to the Chobe National Park.

Day 5
Day 11-13: Victoria Falls Rest Camp, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travellers exploring the seventh wonder of the world, the unfathomably vast Victoria Falls. About two thirds of the falls can be viewed from the Zimbabwean side and, while the falls are undoubtedly the star attraction, the area provides both adventure seekers and sightseers with plenty of opportunities to warrant a longer stay. Popular activities include scenic flights over the falls in helicopters or micro lights, bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting (seasonal), and day trips to Chobe National Park. The town itself offers some excellent accommodation and restaurant options as well as an eclectic variety of African curios and authentic art sold by friendly Zimbabwean locals who are wonderfully welcoming and eager to help you enjoy your stay.

Victoria Falls Self Catering and Camping Accommodation at the Vic Falls Restcamp is the best budget accommodation available in the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The Rest Camp is situated right in the middle of Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe making it a perfect place to be based with all amenities within walking distance. The Restcamp is only 2 km from the falls making it the closest campsite to the Victoria Falls.
