12 Days self-drive is to visit around the main highlights that Namibia has to offer in Africa. In just 12 days and 11 nghts. You will Spend time amongst the ancient sand dunes in Sossusvlei, go back in time with the coastal time of Swakopmund. Experience the vast landscapes of Otjiwarongo and exceptional game viewing at the world famous Etosha National Park.

Self-Drive Information

Emergency Services: Emergency evacuation services are included.

Drivers: A valid and unendorsed license must be produced by all drivers. The minimum age for authorised drivers is 23 years.

Fuel: The renter will receive the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. Upon the return of the vehicle/termination of the hire, the vehicle will be refilled at the renter’s expense.

Insurances: The rental vehicle includes Zero Excess.

Rental Agreement: Upon renting the vehicle the renter and additional drivers will be required to complete a standard rental agreement with the car rental company. A valid credit card is required for the rental deposit.

Health: It is the client’s own responsibility to ensure that he/she is medically fit and able to embark on the tour.

Force Majeure: It goes without saying that we do our utmost to conduct the tour as described in the programme; however, we cannot guarantee it. Unfavourable weather conditions, rivers in flood, organisational problems, unforeseen events or other factors may force us to change the course of the tour. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Day 1
Windhoek to Gobabis 212km

Accommodation:Goba Lodge & Rest Camp, Gobabis or similar

Guest will be met and hand over the Vehicle. The guest will drive to the eastern Namibia (Gobabis). Like most towns in Namibia, Gobabis has an interesting history, which is documented in the local Gobabis Museum. Opened on request, visitors will find a collection of historic artifacts inside, while old agricultural implements are displayed on the grounds.

Day 2
Gobabis area

Accommodation: Goba Lodge & Rest Camp, Gobabis or similar

Guest will have breakfast and have tine to explore the cattle country. Visitors can also view the beautiful traditional dress of the local Herero and Damara women while strolling through town, enjoy excellent bird watching in the surrounding areas and jump on the back of a traditional Damara-nama donkey cart for a ride. Don’t miss a visit to the Harnas Wildlife Foundation, a sanctuary for big cats and a variety of endangered wildlife.

Overnight: Goba Lodge & Rest Camp

Goba Lodge & Rest Camp provided guests with a wonderful lodge experience with its beautiful gardens and wide open spaces. With friendly service, nature and a renowned restaurant, guests can enjoy a perfect care-free stay.

Accommodation at Goba Lodge comprises of 4 twin bed luxury rooms, a twin bed standard room, 2 double bed luxury rooms, 2 family chalets with one spacious room, 3 family units with a separate parent room. Goba Rest Camp offers 3 double bed rooms, 7 twin bed rooms, 4 campsites and has a view of the game camp. The rooms shares 4 separate ablution units with the campsite. Each camp site is on a lawn and is provided with a light, power outlet and stand alone BBQ grid. There is clean, drinkable water on tap. Other communal facilities include a dining room with channel TV, kitchen and BBQ area.

Day 3
Gobabis To Mariendal 327km

Accommodation: Kalahari Anib Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia, Mariental / Similar

Clients will get morning Breakfast and depart to south side of Namibia. Mariental is located close to magnificent the Hardap Dam, which is the largest reservoir in Namibia. The Hardap Irrigation Scheme has breathed life into this arid terrain, which is now fertile with farmlands covered in citrus, melons, lucerne, wine and maize, and dotted with ostrich farms.

Day 4
Mariental To Fish river Canyon 354km

Clients will get morning Breakfast and depart to Fish River Canyon which is Carving out an epic rocky wonderland in the south of Namibia, the Fish River has created Africa’s largest and the world’s second largest canyon. Hot, dry and stony, the Fish River Canyon measures a whopping 160 kilometres in length, at times 27 kilometres in width and 550 metres in depth.

Ai-Ais, which means "burning water" in one of the local languages, refers to the sulphurous hot springs which are found in this area. Day 6
Windhoek to Sossusvlei (392.7.km)

Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar

Guest will depart in the morning from Windhoek and depart to Sossusvlei area.The drive reveals the transition from Kalahari thornveld to the true desert of the Namib; Lilyveld, a valley 30km north of Maltahöhe, springs into bloom for about a week after good rains; Duiwiseb Castle is an interesting diversion 70km south-west of Maltahöhe. Along the way clients will get Lunch that will be served along the way where the guide will pullover by a big tree and serve lunch at 12h00-13h00. After arrival guest will have leisure time before going on a Sundowner drive to Elim dune around 17h30 or 18h00.

Day 7
Sossuvlei / Sesriem Area

Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar

Guest will grab breakfast and drive into the park for the Sossuvlei Excursion which includes Dune 45, Deadvlei, Hiddenvlei, and Big Daddy. The guest will have regular stops to let clients take pictures and have some exposure of the Dunes. Guest will be back around lunch time and will have some leisure time for themselves at the pool while.

Namib Desert Lodge is located 60 km north of Sesriem on the C 19 (Sossusvlei Area).

Day 8
Sossusvlei to Swakopmund (402.6km)

Accommodation: Pebble Stone House, Swakopmund / Similar

Guest depart to Swakopmund early morning at around 09:00 am. Once guest have arrived, they will get lunch in Swakopmund after quad biking and Sandboard activity which is about a 2-hour drive. After the activities, other optional activities can be Skydiving, Sandwich habour, kayaking, and desert tour. There are a lot of activities that clients can do in Swakopmund.

Swakopmund Area

Guest will get early Breakfast and then visit to the Museum and from there onwards do a City Tour.

Day 10
Swakopmund to Etosha National Park (491.6km)

Clients will have breakfast and depart to the northern part of Namibia. their journey and the second stop will be in Otjiwarongo, where guest can grab lunch at the shopping centre before proceeding to Etosha National Park.The route is almost too short to stop, barring a comfort stop at Outjo and a picture of the Ugab Terrace. If time permits, enter Etosha for an afternoon game drive. Depending on how often you stop today, On entering the park, the first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and I suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way. Etosha has lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, springbok and elephants. This on top of many lesser and common plains herds, and abundant birds makes game viewing in Etosha.

Day 11
Etosha National Park

Clients will take early breakfast and then go on the Full day game drive and around 12h00 -13h00 clients will have lunch inside the park and continue with the game drive up till the afternoon and after the game drive guest will have leisure time to enjoy the atmosphere before dinner.

Overnight: Etosha Safari Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia

Etosha Safari Lodge is located 10 km south of Andersson Gate on the C 38 (Etosha National Park).

Sip on a drink while watching the ruby sun dip into the mopane woodland. Perched on a hill with expansive views, this stylish lodge offers 65 chalets that provide a peaceful base from which to explore the animal bounty of Etosha National Park.

A shuttle service operates between Windhoek and Etosha Safari Lodge and Camp (on request).

Day 12
Etosha to Windhoek 414km

Guest will get up at 08h00 and have breakfast they will depart to Windhoek and on arrival hand over the Vehicle and the keys to the Representative of the Company.
