Windhoek

Windhoek is Namibia’s capital, home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and accommodation options. The city is clean, safe and well-organised, with a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the Alte Feste (Old Fort), the 1896 Christuskirche (Christ Church), and the more contemporary Supreme Court.

Overnight: Klein Windhoek Guest House

Klein Windhoek Guesthouse is situated in one of Windhoek’s best suburbs in a quiet area next to the Klein Windhoek Riverbed – an ideal location for business people and tourists. From here it is a short 5 minute drive to City Centre; shops and popular restaurants are in close proximity. We offer a variety of rooms and self catering units.

Ghanzi

Situated 300km south-west of Maun and just north of the Trans-Kalahari highway, which runs from Lobatse in Botswana to Walvis Bay in Namibia, this small town is sometimes referred to as the 'Capital of the Kalahari'. This is the administrative centre of Ghanzi district which covers a vast area of cattle ranches and farmland in the west of Botswana. Although Ghanzi is close to the Trans-Kalahari highway it only has a few shops, a bank and only one filling station. Ghanzi does however have a good butchery and two large supermarkets. The Ghanzi area has a number of lodges which focus on cultural tourism as well as wildlife viewing - here you can experience the fascinating world of the San (bushmen) as they explain to you how they forage, hunt and find water in this harsh environment.

Overnight: Ghanzi Trail Blazers

Ghanzi Trail Blazers caters for visitors who wish to have a genuine glimpse of a fast disappearing unique and ancient culture. It offers a number of activities to interact with the San Bushman, and to discover how they survived in the Kalahari. Ghanzi Trail Blazers is located approximately 5.6 km away from the main road, far enough away to capture the real African bushveldt.

Botswana

Despite recent and surprisingly rapid modernization, Botswana’s cities provide little in the way of tourist attractions. However, what the cities lack in excitement, the surrounding wilderness areas more than make up for in outstanding natural beauty. The country’s primary tourist draw card is undoubtedly the vast red expanse of the Kalahari desert and its remarkably beautiful Okavango Delta - the largest inland delta in the world provide a haven for an abundance of African wildlife. Other highlights include the impressive Makgadikgadi salt pans where visitors are privy to massive zebra migrations during the flood season; the Savuti plains which host large prides of lions; and the Tsodilo Hills where 4500 rock paintings form a unique record of human settlement over many millennia.

Overnight: Elephant Sands Lodge

Elephant Sands is a bush lodge & campsite in the north-eastern part of Botswana. Come and enjoy viewing the elephants at our natural waterhole right in front of the lodge. Watch these impressive creatures whilst they drink at only a couple of meters away from you, a unique experience! There is plenty of other wildlife around as well on our unfenced 16000 ha private conservancy. The lack of fences allows all animals to roam freely. We are ideally located in the centre of Botswana’s highlights, such as: the Makgadikgadi pans, the Okavango delta and Chobe National Park. Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park are on our doorstep so to speak. Our lodge is a great starting point for a tour along all these places of interest. Find out more about the activities and personalized Tours & Safaris we offer. Stay in one of our 14 en suite Chalets or pitch your own tent and experience the serenity and peacefulness of the real African bush. Elephant Sands, where elephants rule...

Kasane

Kasane is almost part of the Chobe National Park as there are no boundary fences separating the village from the park. In fact, game such as elephant and hippo are often spotted in Kasane. If on the lookout for game in the area, pay a visit to the large, dead trees along the Sedudu Valley Road as they often act as temporary homes for leopards. These aren’t the only enticing trees in Kasane – the village is also the proud owner of an old baobab tree whose tree trunk was once a local prison. Kasane is the main town servicing Chobe and the Linyanti.

Overnight: Thebe River Lodge and Campsite

Thebe River Safaris is ideally situated for visitors to Chobe National Park and Chobe River region in Northern Botswana. The lodge and camp overlooks the placid Chobe River and echo's the surrounding bush with a rustic design. Thebe River Safaris is 12 km from the Kazungula border and 5 km from the Chobe Park entrance. There is a restaurant and bar providing welcome food and drinks and visitors can enjoy the sparkling swimming pool and free Wi-Fi. Available activities include game drives, boat cruises, overnight safari excursions and Victoria Falls day trips.
